spring trends: brokendown

spring 2012 is upon us. in spirit if not in actuality. that means it's time to start looking at the spring trends. we've picked 8 that stand out with some pictures to get you thinking. 

1. art deco: think gatsby, dropped waists, beaded fringe, deep-v's, loose dresses, geometrics, and metallics. 

2. structural silhouettes: harkening back to cristobal balenciaga, we're seeing peplums, and volume. 

3. chic sport: the olympics are drawing near, fashion is celebrating with it's take on sporty dressing. 

4. pretty pumps: this statement shape is getting a feminine update with pastels, sparkle, and bits of lucite. 

5. statement earrings: the one thing you need this season. 

6. pastels: the color range of choice. looks it's best when mixing similar hues or when pairing with your neutrals.

7. sea goddess: if it gives off the feeling of being under the sea, it's a winner.

8. feminine glamour: the punchline of the season. if it's a little bit girly, it's perfect. accentuating the waist through wide belts, pencil skirt, cropped tops, or even showing that sexy area you didn't even know you had - between bustline and belly-button. 

and the rule of thumb when wearing trends. pick one or two that works with your style, and your lifestyle. above all don't be a fashion victim.
